Why Scouting?

Cub Scouts is a program within the Scouting America that serves youth from 5 to 11 years old. We aim to prepare youth to grow into self-reliant and dependable adults. Cub Scouts achieve this with a lineup of hands-on activities and adventures focused on:

  • Character Development

  • Spiritual Growth

  • Good Citizenship

  • Sportsmanship and Fitness

  • Family Understanding

  • Respectful Relationships

  • Personal Achievement

  • Friendly Service

  • Fun and Adventure

  • Preparation for Scouts BSA

Cub Scouts takes place at two levels. Every Scout is part of den which is grade specific. Each den typically meets twice a month. All dens from Kindergarten through fifth grade comprise the pack. The pack meets monthly.

Pack 1138 is part of the Lone Star District of the Sam Houston Area Council and is proudly chartered by Grace United Methodist Church in the Houston Heights. Although our pack primarily serves Field, Harvard, Love, and Travis Elementary schools, we warmly welcome Scouts from throughout the greater Houston area.
